Mohd Zul-Waqar Mohd Tohid is currently a senior lecturer and Head of Facilities Maintenance Engineering (FaME) Section at Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (MITEC), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) since 2013.

He is a registered Professional Technologist (Ts) under Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), Graduate Engineer under Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM), member of Malaysian Society of Engineering Technology (MySET), AEMAS Certified Energy Manager (CEM) under ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), a Certified Infrared Thermographer Level 1 from Infraspection Institute, USA, Certified Level 1 Airborne Ultrasound Inspector (ASNT), Certified Vibration Analyst CAT 2 from Mobius Institute and member of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) at University Technology Malaysia and Master of Science in Electrical Technology for Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems at University of Nottingham, UK.
